NH Governor Shaheen on Tuesday signed a new state law into effect that prohibits an insurance company from requiring the insured to call them or anybody else before they can call 911.

As you probably know, some HMOs were requiring insureds to call their 800 number and some bean counter somewhere would decide wether they had an emergency or not. If so, they'd send their own (private) contracted ambulance out.

She signed it at the Professional Firefighters of NH Biennial Convention.

That's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind.

Stay Safe.
