I believe Amelia is S/E of Cincinnati. Don't know of anything happening down there that has made itself known around here. What was the rumor ?

Local 4061 (a 5-member local) organized in July, 2000. Pierce Twp. dismantled the fire department (fired 3 of the 5 members and reassigned the other 2). They tried to hire retirees and other departments' personnel and run a part-time F.D. Local 4061 filed Unfair Labor Practice charges with the State Employee Relations Board, but at the time of the request (February, 2001)were in for a long, costly fight.
I contacted the Ohio Association of Professional Fire Fighters a few days ago and the person I spoke to said the group was actually located in Pierce Township in Amelia, OH. (Clermont County in Southwest Ohio, Southeast of Cincinnatti) She also said there has been a long, hard battle and the two sides are still nowhere near an amicable agreement.
