    Default Firefighters with Prosthetics

Gentlemen, I need some information on working firefighters with prosthetics. I may have to fight to keep an excellant firefighter who just lost his leg in a motorcycle accident. Does anyone here have info on firefighters currently working with such a condition, and were there any special requirements established for qualification.

    Thanks all
    Gary

Timing is everything. If you haven't already, check out today's story on Firehouse's home page. Volusia County , Florida Fire Fighter Bill Henry is returning to full duty after losing the lower part of one of his legs in a motorcycle crash 14 months ago. He's got a prosthesis and apparently passed a physical agility test in a better-than-average time. It can be done! And by the way, Congratulations, Bill!

chehalis , or centralia washington has a f/f who lost his hand. as he recovered, he took a test to see if he could still perform the duty's of a firefighter. He passed and was able to keep his job. That a tough one though.
