    Question Daytime fire fighters

Does anyone know if it would be legal for our Fire Dept. to reimburse the employers who release employee's for daytime calls? This is the membership not the Fire District.

I know our dept. has a problem getting money coming in, never a problem with it going out. I would check with an attorney for your law, but I would think that maybe you could give a donation slip for the money paid by employers as long as you have your non-profit tax id #. I hope this helps.

Maybe the employer could get a tax deduction for the hours that an his/her employee spends volunteering while on his regular work schedule.

Take care and be safe...Lt. Gonzo
