Question What is your full time job?

When I'm not at home with the "Fam", or at the fire house, I am putting in my time behind a dispatch console. (which is where I am right now) I dispatch for the city of Somersworth NH Police, Fire, & EMS. I know a lot of people who are self employed, along with the people who are also career FF's. Where do you spend your day?

Take care, stay safe, & stay low.

    Lt. Spinney

Manager Information Systems. Work about 10 miles from the firehouse. Sometimes grab a call at lunch time. My pager does activate at work and can leave if need be.
Azde, I'm jealous. I've thought of doing the same thing, but until the youngest is in school and the wife can go to work, I need the medical benefits.

I'm a paralegal/legal assistant. I noted in a visit to a large SF firm recently that the only people on their phone list who were CPR and First Aid certified were...paralegals. I'm a volunteer FF and First Responder and my daughter is a Fire Explorer.

YOU COULD SAY THAT I AM A PAID FIREFIGHTER FROM 8AM TO 5PM. I OPERATE THE CITY WATER SYSTEM, MAINTAINING OUR WATER SUPPLY,HYDRANYS, AND PUMPS. I CAN LEAVE FOR ANY CALL AT ANYTIME. THERE ARE THREE OF US IN THE WATER/WASTEWATER DEPT. SO DAYTIME CALLS GET COVERED AS QUICKLY IF NOT QUICKER THAN NIGHT TIME RUNS.

I'm a technoweenie for the local utility company's power and energy marketing division (deregulation disaster).

I live in WI, but work in MN, ten miles from home to office. I am about 20 miles from the fire district 35 miles from the fire hall, so I don't usually respond to day calls unless it's a really serious fire.

I'm a business analyst in Information Systems for a big corporation. I am able to leave work for anything really big including deployments during disasters with pay. Nice perk. I can also work at home from time to time if I want.
