    Question Helmet color

    What helmet colors does your department use? Do you have any "reserved" colors for officers?

    Cool

    In my department;
    firefighters wear red
    lieutenants wear black
    captains wear yellow
    chiefs wear white

    Although I'm a captain (the only one right now), I wear a red leather with a yellow front. Sorry, but I just never could get used to that bright yellow plastic thing.

    Line Officers wear white helmets with the exception of the myself who is a Lieutenant and the Deputy Chief we both own New Yorkers that are natural. All Line Officers have front pieces that indicate rank. Firefighters who don't own there own helmet are issued yellow ones.
