    Default Forcible Entry prop

Anyone ever make a forcible entry training prop? If so, how much did it cost to make it?

One of our guys and his brother made one 7 or 8 years ago. I was thinking about trying to build another one.

I've never built one myself, but one of FDNY's training guys did. It's commercially available under the name Power Jamb. There website is www.powerjamb.com. We're looking to pruchase one in the near future, but....
There was an article in Firehouse magazine 3 or 4 years ago about this that was pretty interesting as I recall. It's probably available if you search the website archives. You may get some ideas from that.
    Good Luck.

    Default forcible entry prop

adze, I built a forcible entry prop for my people to do some work with the "rabbit tool" and halligan and sledge hammer. I'll e-mail you the plans and details if you get me you address. The materials were donated, however I would guess it would cost around $50.00 to build

If adze@firehousemail.com doesn't work, Private Message or email me and I will send you another email address.

Hey Webteam...how come we can't display our email address in our profiles anymore? I cheated and put it in my "interests".

I have started making a combination prop. With a floor that can be simulated as a floor, or proped up for vertical ventilation. For the walls it depends on what you want to make. One of my walls has a place for cinder blocks, chain, and drywall. Another wall has the door frame, and window frame in it (That one is not finished yet). Everything bolts together, and so far costs about 200.00, no including door and window. Most expensive things are the bolts for putting everything together. The floor is on a subframe, so the area that is being cut can be replaced when needed. No complaints yet on it.

Anybody have any experience with this? It looks pretty impressive in the video they have online, but I'd like to hear from those who've seen it, used it, or own it. What do you like? Dislike? Thanks.
