Out of interest, how often are your appliances replaced and according to what criterior? Are your vehicles replaced after reaching a certain milage or after so many years of service? Are rural stations less likely to replace vehicles than city brigades? And what about financial aid? Do you get such help?

Our system calls for a (supposed) 20 year life cycle.
I say supposed because we just replaced a 1972 Truck last year.
We are a rural department with about 130-150 runs/year (No medical calls).
We are heavily funded by the county government, but would still be unable to function without donation money.Take Care - Stay Safe - God Bless

We currently try to replace at the ten year mark for pumpers and 15 or so for special apps(they have less runs).... we keep a seven year plan and budget for fleet replacement and only finance about a quarter of the cost
