Exclamation Cairns & Brother 1010 Stress Cracks?

Upon inspection of our companys Cairns & Brother 1010's I noticed that on the bottom of every rib comming down the helmet were it meets the water flare, there are small (what looks like stress cracks)chips or cracks around the bottom of the rib. Has anybody seen that before on thir companys or personal helmets? The helmets in question have a 1995 and 1997 date on the helmet. There are a couple of our helmets from the same year (1997) with the same problem. I am going to send them back to get looked over but does anybody think that it is normal wear and tear? Has anybody ever sent them back and got a respone like they are ok or it is just normal wear and tear?

I have heard similar reports right here on the forums in the past. We currently use both leathers and 1010's, but so far I have not seen any cracks. I will be keeping an eye out though.

I have a 1010 and it has the same cracks you describe.....I called Carins and a couple of helmet vendors who report that it is the seam just carcking where the clear coat goes on it. I wasnt sure if that was the real gig or not so I went and had a friend X-ray it ..and it is ok.and didnt take awaya from its integrity .........
