I'm interested in obtaining fire line badges from any town. I will purchase the badges or trade for other fire department related items. Also, I'm interested in obtaining badges for fire alarm operators.
Here are a couple of the fire line badges that I currently have. The badge on the left is a City of Cincinnati Priviledge Badge. The one on the right with Fire Lines in red enamel is from New York, New York.
I would also be interested in seeing photos of fire line badges from other collections.

Use of Fire Line Badges
Fire line badges were issued by the fire department for buffs, reporters, and other individuals who were to be allowed near the building during a blaze. Most larger towns issued these and some places issued seperate "Press" badge in some cases. They were essentially a badge saying that you were a buff and it was O.K. for you to be on the scene.
I'm interested in Fire Line badges from any department! I would really like to find additional styles from Cincinnati, Ohio or Covington, Kentucky!

Las Vegas
I'm not sure if Las Vegas ever used fire line badges. The 2 in the photo above both date to the 1930's (thats a rough guess). Although some places currently issue them, they are simply a plastic photo ID card now. I'm not aware of any town that actually issues a real badge anymore.

I doubt if many depts. use them anymore. But it's easy to get a press pass. Just go to your local newspaper and tell them you're a buff (you'll probably have to explain it). Once they know you could be a "source" for good front page pictures, they'll probably give you a press pass, and maybe some "free" developing (if you aren't shooting digital).
Then again, getting the FD to pay any attention to it is another story.
