Post New Book By D. Smith...

The release date for Dennis Smith's new Book "Report from Ground Zero" is fast approaching. How many of you have pre-ordered this and if any FDNY Brothers are reading this, what do you guys think of it?

    Default "A Come-Back?"

Mr Smith, who's fame was gained when they were rioting in the Bronx (60-70's), simply spent time at various Firehouses and conducted interviews. It's been my experience, that those most affected would not respond to such treatment in FDNY. "I think if it's the same FDNY, the members would in fact consider this an insult. Then again, there's a possibility I've lost reality with FDNY.....and could be proved wrong. For my part, I don't need the guy next to me telling me what he saw or did, if he was in fact next to me at some point, so I'll pass.....and extend a "Good Luck" to Dennis!

I wonder also what if there is any type of royalty payment that will go the fallen Brothers families. Since I haven't seen anything on it other than the little ad that appears on this website, I guess I can assume there will be no such payment. Not that it matters much, but I believe I read in Firehouse Mag that Smith hopped a bus to GZ and pitched in. Much like the CBS "documentary" that will appear on the tube on 3/10/02, the timing for such a book is way off in my opinion. Bring the Brothers home first. The almighty dollar strikes again.
