I've seen on some engines a stick/pole/rod attached to the front corners of the bumpers. I believe it is for helping in turning the engine when you can't see the edge of the bumper. I've seen them with flags on them, nothing on them & some even had a light at the top of the pole for night driving.

Try a local pickup, 4 wheel drive or off-road type store. Some auto parts outlets like Pep Boys, Advance, etc. also carry them.

we call 'em chicken sticks. we had a rescue with them on it, but we took them off because of clearance problems with the tilt cab. you'd think the factory would check these things out before they send a rig out.
