Hi, this poll is for those on 100% paid depts. Im trying to find out what other depts do, so Id appreciate if you arent on a paid dept to not vote, otherwise itll skew the data, thank you.
This poll is to determine whether or not your special teams (haz mat, confined space, scuba, etc..) are paid a stipend or voluntary.

Members of the State's District hazmat teams get $3K a year as a stipend. Five of my FD's personnel are with the District 3 team. They also get 8 hours overtime a month for training. If the training falls on a day that somone is on duty, a person is hired at OT rate to cover their position.
Specialized teams get paid overtime for drills.
Personnel with specialty jobs also get paid at OT rate.Last edited by CaptainGonzo; 03-21-2002 at 11:49 PM.

76 member dept. We have a Special Ops team that handles Hazmat, confined space, tech rescue, anything beyond the basic fire suppression/EMS/extrication. The members get no additional compensation beyond OT for responses and drills. They do get a text pager that gives them all the sports scores though!

We're 80 strong, no extra pay for special teams. HazMat gets overtime if it is an off duty call up. Only reward is the pride of going that extra mile and doing things that are not "required"
