    Lightbulb A new Firefighter's organization

I think it's time for a new firefighters organization...the IACOJ... short for

    International
    Association
    of
    Crusty
    Old
    Jakes

    Membership requirements are as follows:

    * An appreciation of the job, respect for those who did the job while you were still in diapers and the sacrifices made by those who preceeded us.

    * A willingness to honor the past, think outside of the box, challenge the future, train and learn new stuff (in other words....building more crust! )

    * A willingness to take the next generation under your wing and show them the true path to firefighting enlightenment...making them "pup proof"

    * A dislike for "mutts".

    * A love of leather helmets! (it's okay if you don't have one, ya just gotta love them! )

    * Doing your time as a "lower than whale scat probie" without complaints or regrets.

    * Crawling down a long, smokey hallway with zero visibility.

    * Knowing what it's like to be on the other side of an opposing hose stream.

    * Working together to make the job better rather than fight among each other!

    * Respecting each other in the true spirit of brotherhood/sisterhood.

PS: you don't have to be crusty and old to join...just be willing to make the transformation!
‎"The education of a firefighter and the continued education of a firefighter is what makes "real" firefighters. Continuous skill development is the core of progressive firefighting. We learn by doing and doing it again and again, both on the training ground and the fireground."

I only have a shell that will crack when hit with a mild amount of force, not necessarily a crust. I noticed you said you don't have to be old and crusty. What is the minimum amount of time to be on the job before you can join? Can I include my time in the Marines? If so I'll be crusty as Hell.

Gonzo, all the unappreciative pleebs that under me have already put me in this club. They have no respect or honor for those of us who have naturally made the transition, but underneath their shallow thin extererior skins they wish like hell they were one of us .

Count me in. Now please excuse me while I go look for my Bullard "Hardboiled" helmet, rubber coat, "Fireball" plastic gloves and black thigh high boots. I think I know where the Chemox mask is.

Get the Ritz Crackers for those tasty black boogers. Things just go better on a Ritz. Count me in, and I got dibs on the ladder pipe.

    Cool Interesting...

Sounds like a cool organization, but I don't have the certs.

I guess my job as a junior would be serving IACOJ members coffee, and washing their POVs...That is, if Captain Gonzo's Chapter is anything like the one we have here...

Default Can I be cranky instead of crusty

Count me in. I'll run on the rescue & bring the hack-saw, come-along, and porta-power. Can't find the high-lift jack.

If that's taken, I'll ride the brush truck - still have an Indian tank.
