Renault's Card Ignition....
Young Grasshoppers, there I was enlightening my knowledge watching television (The Simpsons) tonight when an advert came on for the new Renault Laguna.
Didn't think much of it till they mentioned and showed the new ignition system- a card that is inserted into the dashboard and then a "stop/start" button pushed to actually start the engine.
Has anyone seen these systems and is there any additional problems or precautions to be taken?
Do we just remove the card as we would for keys?Luke

There is a similar system from Mercedes-Benz called Keyless-Go. The driver needs no key to open the car or to start and stop the motor.
If the motor is still running after a crash a Mercedes-Benz car with this system could be stopped by pushing the start/stop button on the gear-selector (transmission in "P" or "N" first).Jorg Heck
