I recently have seen a new Sutphen chassis pumper with a Precision Fire Apparatus body. It looked really good. Two Questions: 1. Does Sutphen sell its chassis to other builders or was this just a special circumstance. 2. Does anyone know anything about Precision Fire Apparatus? They are selling a few rigs here in Texas and seem to be doing fine.

Chassis Question Answers
I know that Sutphen does sell just thier chassis. I personally have delivered a Sutphen chassised Saulsbury Rescue. I know that SVI just did a truck for a dept in NY and one in W. Va.
Did the Prescision with a Sutphen chassis go to Columbia Mo?
Seagrave also sells just a chassis and a bare tiller frame.
I am guessing that ALF would also sell just a chassis, but I have heard that they only want their trucks built on an ALF chassis.

The Westlake Fire Department, just west of Austin has three Precision engines with Sutphen chassis. Hudson Bend FD has some new Precision engines with Spartan chassis. Pictures of Westlake's engines can be found at www.westlakefd.org

There is a Sutphen/SVI rescue photo shown in the Apparatus Dictionary section of the Youngstown Fire Message Board. Also, Wilder, Ky has a Sutphen/Precision engine so there are a few around.
To see the Pinewald NJ rescue, go here: Sutphen/SVI Rescue
