THIS PAST WEEKEND I WAS INVOLVE IN JOINT TRAINING WITH ANOTHER
COMPANY SPONSORING A TRECH RESCUE CLASS. THE INSTRUCTOR WAS
VERY NEGATIVE TOWARDS OUR EQUIPMENT BEING USED AND SAID OUR 3/4"
PLYWOOD DIDNT MEET OSHA REQUIREMENTS FOR TRECH RESCUE. MY FIRST QUESTION IS, DO WE FALL UNDER OSHA IF WERE NOT IN AN OSHA STATE.
SECOND QUESTION, IS WHY ISNT IT, WE WERE TAUGHT TWO PREVIOUS CLASSES BY OUR LOCAL COUNTY FIRE ACADEMY AND THAT IS WHAT THEY WERE USING.
THE INSTRUCTORS WOULDNT EVEN TAKE THE TIME TO LOOK OVER OUR SPECIAL OPERATIONS UNIT AND ASK QUESTIONS WHAT TYPE OF EQUIPMENT WE CARRIED
ON THIS VEHICLE. THIS WAS VERY DISCOURAGING TO US AND OUR PRIDE WAS HURT, WE DEVELOPED THIS VEHICLE AND DONATED YEARS OF PLANNING, TRAINING, EQUIPENT, AND HARD WORK IN GETTING THIS VEHICLE IN SERVICE AND OFFERING OUR SERVICES TO THE TRI-COUNTY AREA THAT BORDER.
