Water Witch.
There are evidently a bunch of them around the country, but there's one in Connecticut too. I always thought it was a pretty cool sounding name for a fire department.

This place was on the show "Jackass" one time. These are my opinions, not those of my career department, my volunteer company, or my affiliates. And by the way, I'm not a Junior.

Back in the 1800s when we had ten different engine, hose and ladder companies running around town on their own, we had one hose co. called "Ours 4 Hose Co." Nobody knows quite what it meant but we do know that the co. was named by writer Mark Twain (He lived here for several years and is buried here).

Cow Castle in Orangeburg Co, SC
Cross Anchor in Spartanburg Co,Sc and far from the coast.
Our neighbors to the north in the other Carolina have a ton of communities with somewhat odd names...so they have some odd fd names too.
Supply FD Brunswick Co, NC
French Broad FD in Buncombe Co, MC (It's named after a river....but if you didn't know..it's kinda funny)
Horneytown FD in Forsyth Co., NC
50-210 FD in Johnson Co, NC
And one that used to make my night when I was a dispatcher. Wayne Co NC shared the same dispatch frequency with us...and we got skip from them pretty much all the time. There is nothing funnier to hear come in on the radio at 0300 than "Attention Polly Watson....." for Polly Watson FD in Wayne Co, NC.

Actually, if you make a little clockwise circle in eastern Lancaster County, PA, you can visit, in this order:
Blue Ball Fire Co.
Bird-In-Hand Fire Co.
Intercourse Fire Co.
Paradise Fire Co. (actually, this one is Paradise & Lehman Place FC, but stay with me on this)
That's Blue Ball, Bird-In-Hand, Intercourse, & then Paradise, & then you can do it all over again!
I kid you not.
