Help, I Can't Find A News Story...
I have been unsuccessfully searching for a Firehouse.com news story dated April 5, 2002, titled "Responding Maryland Truck Hits Car" written by Lon Slepicka. Am I just missing the article or has it been removed for some reason?
Thanks for any help you can render in finding the article location.Visit our award winning web site at:

Attention Web Team
A friend recently provided me a copy of the article to which my above post inquires about. After a thorough, unsuccessful, search of the Firehouse.com archives, I would like the web team to explain why the article was removed from Firehouse.com.
For those not aware of the article in question, On April 3, 2002, Prince George's County (MD) Fire Department was fighting a school fire. A responding Bladensburg VFD fire unit was placed in service by communications because another unit was closer. The unit OIC allegedly lied about their location and continued to respond to the working incident. The unit was then involved in a wreck which injured 3 civilians while passing through a red light at over 40 mph. The intersection the accident occurred in was about 3 miles farther away from the incident when compared to where they had just reported their location to be.Visit our award winning web site at:

The only reason an article is removed from Firehouse.com is if:
a) its a Lexis Nexis story that expires
b) its an AP story that expires
c) its from an outside source that limits the number of days in which it appears.
In this case, none of those reason apply, however, and for whatever reason it isn't listed in our archive but can be found here:
It has also been added back into the archives.
