If you don't think seat belts and airbags help, observe. This car was hit head-on by an '82 Cutlass, with both vehicles doing 50-60 mph. The two front seat occupants of the Cutlass died, but the female in the Nissan survived with serious leg and hip fractures. However, thanks to her seat belt and air bag, she is now home.
The side view of the car is just amazing to me. Can you believe she survived that?

EKy... the pic didn't show up. But yes I do believe in them.
T-boned a Cadillac at 50 mph in my Dodge Dakota last year, air bag popped and i crawled out with just a bruise on my hip from the buckle. Truck was totaled. Oddly, I wear it religiously in my own vehicle, but am worst when going to runs, always seems to be more on my mind, have to be prompted.

I'm on a roll now!
Now I don't feel like such a dork for starting this thread. This picture is the car that hit the other. You can see the Nissan in the background there.
