    Default Water Source Mapping

What mapping software program are you using for locating water sources? Why do you like it?

Also, what software are you using for hydrant testing results? Comments???

Funny you should ask. I'm halfway done making our first map book right now!

I'm making map books based on the Tulsa Fire model. The map pages will show hydrant locations and main sizes, as soon as the rural water district puts those darn lines in the ground (soon, soon!).

As we are a rural department, each page is one square mile.

I'm using the "drawing" option on Appleworks for Macintosh. No "fire" software here.

Haven't had to test hydrants yet, but within the next two years they will start popping up. I'll likey use the "spreadsheet" option on Appleworks for that.

Get a Mac! They are easy to use!
