Here's your drink, Leuit... I'm loving the weather, too. I don't like being cold (nor do I like extreme heat)...and my heat bill is nothing like last year.

I'm thinking about a road trip up to Atlantic City, NJ...any one been there & know what there's to do (other than the obligatory gambling)?

JORIE....YOU'RE STILL ALIVE!!! Theres cases of cherries and whipped cream waiting for you
Sky, I definately not complaining about the weather this year so far. When I drove home not too long ago, it was still 43. The last 2 years it was -20. Going to A-C, huh? Lucky duck. One of my sleepless nights, I got to thinking all of the "regulars" from the pub should find a real place of drink and meet up sometime...what do you guys think?

At least I'm not way off base in comming up with the idea...It was one of those laying awake at 3:30 in the morning trying to fall alseep thoughts...Now, if I could just think of a way to work less and get (alot) more money, I'd be set!

and people wonder where I come up with some of my ideas!

But no, you are not at all off base on this one. I think its a great idea. All the more so because I'm near close enough to Anywhere that I might even be able to attend. (Moving nearer to the Eastcoast does have some advantages after all).

    Thanks 2-7,
Now, during my sleepless nights (damn I need to get my insurance back so I can get my prescription of Ambien filled), I'll have to try and triangulate a central location for all of us to meet.

Leuit...you're too young to have to take Ambien! We need to get Jorie out your way! Hey, how far are you from DC? I don't have a clue? Can't be too long of a road trip. Rook, you coming out East any time soon? Josh...you can't be too far either....

Atlantic City is out of the picture for this weekend. Gonna try Colonial Williamsburg...I hear it's neat.

    Sky,
I'm about 8 hours north of DC (if I remember correctly). As for the Ambien, I've always had a problem sleeping...well, getting to sleep. Before I got my script for ambien for a 2 week period, I would only get about 20 mins of sleep a night...fun times.

ROOK will not be going out east any time in the forseeable future. Be sure to take lots of pics and post them along with any "interesting" stories.

NO NO... you Joisey guys ALWAYS get it backwards... its Chilli Beer!

I have nachos at home too, but after I got done with the chilli, I decided I should hold back a bit and save the nachos for the weekend, after Level 1 class on Saturday. Double header schooling: P.S. in the morning (not sure what that is about) and ICS in the afternoon.

Never heard of beer chili? Make chili as usual, add a bottle of beer to it (not the actual bottle, just the contents ) Voila beer chili.....the beer adds a nice flavor to the chili.

Ingredient and side beverage 2-7 Today's a good day to get loaded on beer chili and beer. Pouring out (thank god it's not snow or else we'd literally be buried). We've run 6 water calls already today, and I have to go to work 4-mid. I'd rather stay in the pub and drink

    Beer Chili Recipe #22087
This recipe is a hit at any "Super Bowl" Party, or just a cold wintery night. You will be surprised at the mild beer flavor. Even though I don't drink beer I do like the taste of this chili.
    2 lbs ground beef
1 lb zesty hot sausage (Bob Evans)
    1 cup chopped onions
    1 cup chopped green peppers
    1 cup diced celery
    2 (15 1/2 ounce) cans kidney beans
    2 (16 ounce) cans tomatoes
    1 can tomato juice
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
    2 cloves garlic
2 tablespoons chili powder (or to taste)
    salt & pepper
1 can beer, room temp (any brand)

10-12 servings Change size or US/metric
    Change to: servings US Metric

    2 hours 15 minutes 15 mins prep

I am not so sure about that "any brand" nonsense. I am thinking a darker beer would add more flavor. maybe Superchef can shed some light on this subject.

    Tanker,
That's pretty darn close to the recipe I use, although I like it a little spicier, so I add some Franks Red Hot. As for the beer, I agree with you...I use either Molson Or Sam Adams (depending on the flavoring I'm in the mood for) I tried using Bud one time...couldn't taste anything different than without beer.

I was thinking maybe of trying some Guiness, but that might be TOO dark and bitter. I guess any beer with alot of flavour would work.
