HAHA...I guess it could be called an SUV, but when I think SUV I think of my mom's trailblazer.......I call the trailblazer a truck though, not an SUV.

How about a Shelby Cobra GT500 for da Rook?

    I'll let you borrow it...

Hey there everyone! I've been away from the pub for a while, but I think it's safe to come back now. I stopped drinking for real back in January and I thought even a "virtual bar" was a bad idea for a while. In case you are wondering, no I didn't have any "rock bottom" experience to make me stop. Luckily, I saw where the path ahead was leading before there was any trouble. So, just lemonade for me from now on!
And I stopped in at the right time. Just traded mt '99 Explorer for a 2006 Toyota Highlander. The Highlander is my first new car ever! I loved my explorer, but I moved further south with very little threat of snow, so why not drive something more comfortable and with better gas mileage? ( I got the 2WD version) Still big enough to cart the kayak and gear around with, too.
I almost bought an Escape. Those are sharp looking and tough little SUV's. Hope you enjoy it RFRD!
Well, it's good to be back!

Hi PAJ. Nice to see you in here again.
It just so happens that Lemonade is the drink of the day today.

Boy; these people with their new vehicles...my 626 has 400,000km on it and it runs like a top. You just can't kill those vehicles that easily. Expensive to buy but go forever. Your Highlander should be the same way.

Nothing like a new/different vehicle is there folks?

Had a few the other night for my roomate's birthday.

Nothing for me tonight, I'm at work, flying the dispatch desk. I'm sure scannerland is loving our antics tonight. The shift just started and we're already slaphappy.

One officer just called in the reg for their patrol car...

    Have one for me.

    Default That's enough already...

    Morning, WERUJ1.

We are on our 4th consecutive day of rain. And I mean rain. We are up to about 5" now. Some of our rural folks can't get to work because of their state of their roads.

RFD was called out last night(this morning?) to retreive a stuck ambulance. The rain has made the roads all but impassible. It was a nightmare.

I would like a hot lemon please. If you want to splash a little something in there...

Ok...I know it's only 9:30 in the morning, but these 24 hour shifts with only getting to sleep for about an hour have to stop....and I need a drink...or 5.
Is it just me, or has stupidity really reared it's ugly head lately?

Well I see things are going well in here. I did a 5 hour duty shift last night (Saturday) and we ran 3 calls. First was "shortness of breath" that went full blown cardiac by the time I hit the front door (was last of 4 in). This was the first CPR call I've had in 6 years. It was a great learning experience to see the EMS Capt right down to us EMT guys get on the job. The pt showed signs of a heart beat 3x before transport. The news turned bad once they go the pt to the hospital only 39 years old, with a 20 month old baby. So there were a few pints that followed once I got home.

It always sucks when you save the drunk driver that killed someone (insert another low-life type person here)...and you can't save to "good" people...in this case a 39 y/o with a young child...

    Sorry Rook,
I was at work yesterday/this AM when you were doing the "hot tub roll call" but I'm here now, and boy does the hot tub feel good after a 24 hour shift (I feel like I'm getting old now...lol) We actually got to SLEEEP the whole overnight shift last night...I was shocked. Hopefully Saturday night is the same.

Well.. I tried to "lurk" yesterday when I got home, only when I got in, I had no cable, no internet - noth'n. So of course I put the trouble call in, and they verified that all systems were "go" to the house at least. I later did a sweep around the yard, to check connections etc. Turns out my Dam Dog (no Beavers here! ) chewed through the bloody coax cable...... So now there is a repair call in to fix it. DAM DOG!

But I got my "own" back today - he went in for his rabies shots and heart worm check eheheheheheheee.

    HAPPY (BELATED) BIRTHDAY JOSH!

Hope it was a good one! I kinda help toast you in last night at the German Embassy and then again later at Sine's......
