    [QUOTE]

I'm very pleased to announce that out of a field of at least 47 boats, my partner and myself finished a very respectable 7th place. We placed in the top ten, which means we received a small check for our efforts. This is the first time in ten years of trying that I've been able to take home some money from this benefit tournament. It was one of the first tournaments in the area that I ever fished, before I joined a bass club, so I am beyond happy to finally get a little recognition from it. We had a hard day, fishing after the cold front that brought the Tornados up around Firecat's area. First place had 17.90 lbs, second had just over 12lbs, and we had 10.14 lbs, so we were really pleased at the weigh-in. The kicker, to us, is we caught our 5th fish of our 5 fish limit within sight of the weigh-in, with only 15 minutes of competition left, and everyone watching... I was delivered a bottle of homemade blackberry wine from my cousin, as congratulations! Anybody want some? I'll share!!

Clost to home, and closest to the "old" style bars of my younger days. Not like the sterile places today with no characther. A lot of Military, Fire, and Police hang there. The wings are the best in the area (my opinion), and they got a great hamburger.

Their slogan is "To Get a Better Piece of Chicken, You Gotta Be a Rooster!"

If your in the area stop in for a cool one.

Texas Strip Clubs Must Pay 'Pole Tax'. Officials Expect Tax Paid During Appeal

    POSTED: 1:41 pm EDT April 18, 2008
    UPDATED: 2:04 pm EDT April 18, 2008

A state judge has declared the so-called "pole tax" invalid, but Texas officials said they still expect strip clubs to pay it.

At issue is the $5 cover fee on club patrons that the state legislature passed last year. The money raised was to go to sexual assault services and health insurance for the poor.

But club owners challenged the fee in court, and last month a district judge found it to be an illegal tax on expression protected by the First Amendment.

The state's attorney general filed an appeal, which automatically suspended the judge's ruling.

The state comptroller has now sent a letter to the clubs saying the fee remains active and payments are due Monday, otherwise a 5 percent penalty will be tacked on.

An attorney for one major club owner calls that "a grave injustice."

No stripper poles here so we don't have to worry about that little problem.

Ahhh, Diet Coke, aka-Diet Crack. The choice of late night shift workers worldwide. Nothing like the buzz of the caffeine and sugar imitation to keep you going through the long hours... It goes well with Crown Royal...

I like to combine high sugar foods with sugar free softdrinks (diet coke) and ride the rush that includes the jitters, a crawling skin feeling, and the never ending feeling like my bladder and kidneys are going to explode. That is how you can work for five days with only ten hours of sleep.

I had my first one of those this morning at around 0630 - was that too early? Went well in the coffee after the Dawn Service.
