Don't rightfully know. I've seen it done for when a member dies, even if it isn't LODD. Guess it's up to your chief.
Who cares if we are volunteer or paid? Not the fire. We fight fire not each other. Get it straight my brothers and sisters.

Absolutely!!! If the individual was a firefighter, they deserve the respect of the mourning band. You are mourning their death, right? It is perfectly O.K. as far as I'm concerned.
