WAUKESHA, Wis. (AP) - Two firemen were injured on the way to a
fire Saturday when their pumper truck rolled over, pinning them
inside the wrecked vehicle, authorities said.
The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department said the Town of
Waukesha truck was carrying 3,500 gallons of water when it rolled
on County Highway DE.
After the two firemen were extricated from the truck, they were
taken to Waukesha Memorial Hospital.
The 40-year-old driver and 27-year-old passenger had severe
facial cuts and were being checked for other injuries, sheriff's
officials said.
A fireman from the Wales Fire Department escaped injury when he
rolled over in his vehicle while driving to the same fire.
The fire was reported just after noon and extensively damaged a
house in the Town of Genesee. The homeowner was taken to the
hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.
