I was wondering where most of the explorers are from. I think it would be kool to plan some type of explorer weekend with pepole from all over what do you think of that?

i think it would be very hard to do that because there are jrs.cadets.explorers all over the nation the only ones that would go would be the ones by them.

There is already a national event like that that is set up by the Boy Scouts at the National Fire Academy. The only drawback to this is that it is limited to Fire Explorers ONLY.

Lightbulb It's a great idea but...

...as others have said, it would be VERY difficult to put together. Anyway, I am in North-Central West Virginia. Oh, and now that I looked at your post again, you asked about explorers. I am a junior, not affiliated with the BSA, but some kind of a conference or something would still be great.

Went to the Explorer Weekend at Montour Falls last year. It's a great program for any explorers. I would encourage any explorer posts in NY to look into going to it. There are 2 weekends: one in mid July and one in the beginning of August. Too late to register for this year I believe but i would encourage you to check it out for next year.

I think it would be a great idea, ive been to a couple trade shows for model railroads, and ideas are exchanged much more freely there than anywhere else i noticed, and you get to see ideas and such first hand - much better than reading about it- just my thoughts- i live in

Any explorers jr.s want to discuss something near here give me a email

this will be the 3rd yr i'm taking our post to the academy, we go up in July. We get together w/ dept around us every June for a one day training event, and just held our own training weekend/campout. Our post also attends Musters which allows them to talk to other explorers. We are looking into the National Fire Academy Explorer Weekend next year.

    Thumbs up awesome!

Im in Florida. Theres not too many fire explorer females. We are few.
But that would be neat if I could meet other explorers near or far from my area. I always love to hear their stories and their way of training.

    Lightbulb HEY, here's an idea.

    Hi all, first time reply.

Um, why not hold a convention at the St.Louis fire
convention that's on every summer. It's right in
the middle of the country, St. Louis has a big
airport and plenty of hotel space.

Or Chicago wood be an even better spot, but
I'm not sure if they have a convention.

Hey, engine1321 where is that event at?
