Springfield, MA FF injured
Firefighter, elderly man hospitalized-Springfield, Mass.
(Springfield-AP) -- A Springfield firefighter and an elderly man
have been hospitalized after a fire jumped from the cellar to the
third floor and attic.
Public Information officer Dennis Leger says a dozen people who
live in the Jefferson Avenue apartments could be left homeless.
Fire Lieutenant Robert Noble suffered a concussion and smoke
inhalation. Leger says Noble lost his footing and slid off the roof
and onto the ground.
Firefighters found an elderly man on the third floor, overcome
by smoke. He was given C-P-R and taken to Bay State Medical Center.
His condition and identity at this time are unknown.
Leger says the cellar had several false ceilings and was able to
