    Thumbs up Calgary, Alberta, Canada

I spent five weeks there in 1988 during the Olympic Games and had a chance to stop in and chat with some of Calgary's bravest. What a great opportunity for me! I think the station was on or near McLeod Trail...is that possible?

In any event...God bless and protect all of you. I just wanted to say thanks again for the hospitality!

    Wink

Wow, it's been 14 years since the Games...and I just don't recall where it was. Is there a station near the Roundup Center? I was involved with the US broadcast of the Games. What a great city!

Thanks to ALL the Calgarians for a wonderful event! I think about going back to visit and, if I do, I'm gonna visit some stations for sure!

EMS has their headquarters in the original Fire Station #2 (old historic building) across from the Stampede Grounds. I'm not sure when EMS moved in there. I just tried to find out some info on that but will have to dig deeper. My best guess is still Station #1 LOL.

On the way to the station. Really. It's 12 kilometers away and there's traffic.

#1 Station is directly beneath the Delta Bow Valley hotel in downtown Calgary, at Macleod Trail (1st St SE) and 5th Av SE. First due to the area of this weekend's fire, and the busiest engine in Canada.

With the steady rain we've had in the last 18 hours, I believe they expect to finish up overhaul and firewatch today.
