Fathers Day is rapidly approaching and I cannot help but think of all of the children of our fallen brothers and the victims of September 11th who will not have dad on Fathers Day.
My heart goes out to the children of our fallen brothers. Your fathers will not be forgotten! We will not forget! We will honor their dads lives, duty, courage, and supreme sacrifice.

My father passed away in August of 1999 and my fathers days have been very very difficult. Since I have moved to florida in September of 2000, I have only seen my youngest son on Fathers day. My oldest works and can't come visit.
So, I know how those young kids and all the mothers feel on Father's Day. I miss my dad very very much....and always will. You never realize how valuable something is until you lose it. The only special thing I will do is call a local florist and have my brother pick up flowers to take to the cemetary for my dad's grave.
God bless all those lost on 09-11...and god bless their families and children....Watch over them.09-11 .. 343 "All Gave Some..Some Gave ALL" God Bless..R.I.P.

For me this father's day is bitter sweet. I lost my grandfather in April, he was a highly decorated, 50 year member of the ladder company that me entire family has been in since its inception in 1831.
I also became a first time father in May, to a wonderful little girl, that I found out I was having on Sept. 12th at 0530 hrs, while covered in white concrete dust. I have 2 reason to remember why I wanted to cry that day, and couldn't. The guilt I have and tears I shed now are my tribute to my brothers. I can't imagine me not seeing her, or her not knowing who I am, and then I think of all of them. It is the best and worst experience of my life.

And how many will follow in their father's footsteps?
God bless 'em
