So true. Y'all stay safe out there, and if working a fire scene and you feel lightheaded, stop what you're doing and get that turnout coat and nomex hood off! We were doing training one day where they lit off a pile of pallets and a car. We let the pallets burn, but me and another firefighter were told to pack out and go put the car out. I was fine until after we got the car out, but after that I almost passed out from the combination of not eating and the heat. Moral of the story: eat something to keep your blood sugar up and watch the heat.
These are my opinions, not those of my career department, my volunteer company, or my affiliates. And by the way, I'm not a Junior.
Buy me a drink, sing me a song, take me as I come 'cause I can't stay long.
