PUBLIC SAFETY ANALYST I #C2167 Closing Date: 07/11/2002 Salary: $35,373 - $51,291 Department: Emergency Medical Services/Director's Office Requirements: Any combination of education (above the high school level) and/or experience equivalent to 5 years in fields such as computer science, business administration, public administration, or public safety work which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Duties: Individual will assist in the design, implementation, management, and evaluation of diverse programs and projects to improve the operational effectiveness and efficiency of the delivery of public safety services; assist in the development of departmental policies and procedures in order to direct and control operations and provide personnel with guide-lines for appropriate conduct; perform research projects using basic methodologies to ascertain program productivity; assist in the monitoring of budget unit performance levels to ensure that budget unit goals and objectives are being met; prepare, review, and edit various documents, reports, and working papers to ensure that they are substantially accurate and grammatically correct; and assist in the long and short-range planning and forecasting of public safety services to determine future departmental resource requirements. Preferences: Knowledge of public safety services. Experience with network administration, data management/analyst, budgeting, and forecasting. Hours: Monday - Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., some nights and weekends.
