We applied for $25,000 to purchase a "new" used tanker. Our community is not incorporated and does not have rural water yet. We have 2 ponds and 2 4000 gallon water tanks within the fire district. We currently have a 1973 Ford Boardman pumper(automatic) with 1000 gpm and 1000 tank, 6x6 brush truck(750 gal), 1969 Ford tanker(1650 gal). We are a class 9 department, but cannot go lower until we get hydrants or more water supply on scene. What are you applying for? Thanks.

We applied for about $38,000. This will get turnouts for the firefighters that don't have any, 6 SCBA's and cascade system. We currently only have one working SCBA. A PPV fan and some training materials.
Our dept. is also attempting to lower our ISO rating so good luck on your grant application and your ISO rating.

We applied for approximately $78,000. This will give us new turn out gear for our first in personnel, 10 new scba's to replace the twenty year old msa's with steel tanks, a thermal imaging camera and other various fire fighting equipment that we need to achieve a lower ISO rating.

We applied for $60k to contract someone to devise our saftey officer procedures, update our SOGS, and bring us into compliance for OSHA/NFPA issues.
We are a completely volunteer town with four seperate departments. The idea was that the contracted person would be able to bring the fire deparments together with one set of SOGs.Jason Zigmont

We requested around $55K total, the bulk of which is for SCBAs and replacement facepieces with communications systems built in. Most of our current SCBA's are about 20 years old. Also includes a thermal imaging camera.

We requested around $120k for a new quick attack truck. WE hope to get it, because all of our other apparatus are money pits. This includes the cost of all the equipment to outfit it, with the cost of 3 new 45 minute SCBA's with spare bottles, and the communication equipment. BTW, this setup would also enable us to provide RIT whenever possible.

I am a member of several companies:
1 requested funding for a thermal imaging camera
1 requested funding to replace old hose and nozzles
and the other requested money for a vehicle to replace our 1965 Engine/Tanker
Goodluck to all.

Our department requested $70,000 for bunker gear and pass devices for all 55 of our firefighters. The gear we are currently using is 10-15 years old and has been given to us by larger departments. We currently don't have any pass devices for any of the firefighters.
Good luck to everyone!Brian Cook
