We're a rescue company only, not fire, but all our vehicles are white.

They used to be yellow, which looked strange, but for safety they were excellant. They then went white about 6 years ago because of the resale value of the trucks...

I've seen a few pix in mags and on the net of trucks that are a lime green- I don't mind those either.

    Arrow Paint Color

Solid white doesn't seem to be as popular as it once was. White over red seems to be the favorite (but not mine)and thenumber of departments that use black over red seems to grow daily.

I'm kinda partial to yellow with a big white and blue stripe. I know, it sounds wierd, but check it out:

    Thumbs up Hamel FD

I do enjoy the variety of paint schemes that are used acroos the U.S. The yellow that Hamel uses looks good. Really like that Ford/E One with the front mount pump.

We use a "Lime Yellow" that was shown quite a few
years ago to be very visible. We also have reflective
    white stripes.

Our department uses red all over with a 3 inch white strip along the side. One town over from us they use White with Orange stripes. Looks like a constuction barrel sutiable for the Construction barrel capital of the world.

People are always asking me how is it that firefighters run into a burning building when everyone else is running out. Courage is the answer.

Ya gotta love that Chicago style. Black over red looks great. But then ya gotta love an all black truck as well.

Another vote for Black over Red. Our last two trucks are Chicago while our others are white over red. As we get new trucks we will maintain the new scheme.

Our latest addition was a Pierce 7 man cab with E-one body, purchased used from Chicago. Naturally, it had Black over Red. Liked it so well, we did our 2nd out Engine and Service/Rescue Vehicle (converted Class III Ambulance) to match. Gold leaf and black striping really set it off! We did cheat a little though since one of our members owns a sign shop for the the gold leaf and striping, we painted and striped outselves.

Seen a new Chassis with purple pearl paint, wild but looked great!

Well my favorite is the scheme my department has. The trucks are Red with a white stripe down each side. Our newest trucks also have gold leaf trim and gold lettering. Wish I had a picture. As far as the other colors I like black, black over red, lime green is ok, and i saw some purple ones once. They were different but nice. Then there is white I guess its ok just to me seems to plain. And I dont see how you could use yellow or orange? We arent road construction. Although I have seen some other colors that are nice in my opinion if the truck is used as an emergency vehicle then it needs to be the traditional red but if its for parades, museums, etc. then some other colors are really nice.
