    Default Firefighter License Plates

Just curious as to what other firefighters have on their personalized license plates?

While I have firefighter plates, which are issued by the state of New Jersey, I can say that I used to have written on the tire cover of my Blazer, Firefighters find them hot and leave them wet.

    Umm . . .

They say a picture is worth a thousand words (but don't ask how I got the plate into the scanner )

KY has vol FF tags (although they're ugly), so I don't have a vanity. But if I did...

    2D RESQ

    or

    2 RESQ U

would be my top choices. If plates were bigger, I'd go with "IT'S ABOUT TIME YOU MOVED OVER, I'M GOING TO A DAMN FIRE".

Awwe Geez - Ya mean I gotta scan the plate every year when I get new decals ??? You know how hard it is to balance the truck up in the scanner

Note to them that may not know (or care) - we keep the same old plate and get new decals every year (for a "modest" fee. )

VA also has both Volunteer & Professional Firefighter Plates (and Volunteer Rescue) all of which are butt ugly plain in my opinion.

    CT Offers a FF plate.

An assistant chief I know has "4 FIRE" and someone I saw the other day has just "FIRE"

Here is what the plate looks like:

In NJ our plate goes the following.....

    NEW JERSEY
    # # (M. Cross w/ FD in the middle) # #
    FIREFIGHTER

I can not get my plates till I get off probation, damn.

But I have a decal on the back that says
    VOLUNTEER
    FIREFIGHTER
    FIRE DEPARTMENT

And on the dash of my chev I have a metal one that says
    VOLUNTEER (Scramble Design)
    FIREMAN (Scramble Design)
    Same plate

Pre 9/11 I was going to get

    DNT JMP

    Post 9/11, I'm glad I didn't.

Could be seen as poor taste, even for a fireman.

I stuck with the standard state plate.

    Default PC?

Here in Md. our F.D. tags still say "Maryland Firemen's Association" across the bottom. I guess they can get away with a little political incorrectness (is that a word?) since the Maryland organization of volunteer "firefighters" still goes by that title.

Current plain VA tags that say "DISPTCH". On the front I have a red "Albemarl County Fire/Rescue #288" rectangular plate hanging underneath my license, and on top of the license a arch that says "East Rivanna Volunteer Fire Co."

In the past I've had "IMNOCOP", "EMT4LYF", "SPVFC".

since the Maryland organization of volunteer "firefighters" still goes by that title.
    the fyreman,
I believe it is now called the "Maryland State Firefighters Assoc."
Regardless, I have company plates. Maryland Issues organizational plates for your individual company. So you can actually get plates with your Company seal on them and they will say at the bottom "(Insert your department name) Volunteer Fire Department. If your company does not have them, than you can get the Generic State volunteer Firefighter tags. Which have a big goofy Maltese cross on them. They also have individual tags for the Union Locals and just plain "Professional Firefighter" plates with an IAFF logo on them. I dont see too many of them though because most of the Locals get personalized plates. And its hard to discern a "Professional" firefighter as one who is in the union, because we all should be professional!!!
