    Default Vehicle info

Our department is in the process of placing laptops on our supervisor's rigs. The laptops will not be wireless enabled initially. They will utilize CD roms or their hard-drives and be used for information retrival while on scene, as well as incident management and reporting.
We would like to find or develop a database of vehicles containig information regarding the location and type of batteries, fuel tanks and lines, as well as air bag location.
Does anyone know of such a resource? If not is their a resource to develop such a database?

Holmatro offers the best database for this. But, I believe they will only sell you a book, which is over $100 and lots and lots of pages, but it's all the information you are looking for.

    Lightbulb User friendly CD

Doubtless a user friendly CD could be developed easily with useful information. Has anyone contacted Holmatro and asked them about the possibility?

Simply, type in a vehicle maker and then specify a search for the specific model.

    Any more ideas from anyone?

Do you have any Access programers availabe to you?? Access is a great database tool. You can customize to your needs. See if someone can create the database you need. You can add and delete as necesary. as the database grows you might want to consider how you will get the information to each laptop!

Check out Emergency Data Resources@ www.PocketMobility.com , and WWW.AirbagData.com . They were at the Firehouse Expo in Baltimore, and just finished their programs. The Air Bag info, you look up like finding an Air-Filter for your car at Wal-Mart, just select the vehicle make, model, and year. Then a screen appears showing the vehicle with the Airbag locations, Pretensioners, Sensors, and control modules. They are comming out with data on the Hybrid vehicles, sometime in the near future. They also offer monthly updates to the program.

They offer data on Haz. Mat as well, but I try to stay away from that!!
