Anybody else hear that the additional funding was written into the supplemental spending bill through the justice department and not FEMA? I saw this on the White House website after searching for 4775, which was the bill number.
If that is the case, we may have a whole other grant process to go through or the cops would get the money!!!!

ncvfc17,
checked out the web addres - it was dated May 21, 2002. So went to www.house.gov - look under roll call for H.R. 4775 -its number 328 -Text of Legislation - and checked out the "as agreed to by HOuse and Senate". This is the pertinent info:
"For an additional amount for `Emergency management planning and assistance' for emergency expenses to respond to the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the United States, $447,200,000, to remain available until September 30, 2003, of which $150,000,000 is for programs as authorized by section 33 of the Federal Fire Prevention and Control Act of 1974, as amended (15 U.S.C. 2201 et seq.);"
Hope this clears up your question.

That's the one - and the way it was set up I don't think he could line-item this part out. Looks like the money is on the way.

Looks like the odds of getting a grant award improved just a little bit today. Outstanding!
Good Luck to all!

Great News!!!!
Hopefully these funds need to be committed by the end of the calendar year too so we all don't have to wait forever to find out, good or bad!
Good luck to all! Stay safe.

Hey,
I'm kind of pushed for time - if someone can go to www.house.gov
-roll call - 107th congress - go to left side number 328(HR 4775) -
open it and read the text agreed to by the House AND Senate and see what it says about FEMA and when the funds need to be spent - really would appreciate it (as would many others).
