Our department recently purchased an E-One Cylone II HP100 Aerial with a 6-man cab.
While we (our local) are generally pleased with the rig, we do have one problem. The rig is outfitted with "West Coast" mirrors which create a dangerous blind spot along the drivers side of the apparatus. We also get a glare off the curve in the windshield which renders the mirror useless (this usually forces us to stick our head out the window while backing into quarters). These problems are without the benefit of snow and ice buildup.
We would like to know if there are others who have had a similar experience with these mirrors, and what was done to correct it, if anything.

Problem is typical with West Coast mirrors on Custom Cabs I've seen it lots, Vibration is also a problem with these, as well as constant adjustments needed every time the door gets slammed, these are for any chassis.
The only fix is to remove the West Coast style truck mirror and replace it with Ramco bus style mirrors mounted on the cab face corners. It's the best fix I've come up with.
