Hi everyone this is my first time posting a message in forum. I was sitting here reading what everyone had to say about the fema grant. Like many departments we submitted one last year and was turned down. we have a retired firefighter from fairfax virginia living here in our county who wrote it. Last year he went into great detail on the narrative, i think about 6 pages and didn't get anything. This year he shortened it a great deal about a page and a half just gave them the information straight to the point. We are a lucky county we was awarded 434,888 in the third round. But wanted to give fire departments on what may have helped us.In your narrative be straight to the point. Like he submitted the same grant from last year but changed the narrative
