About LinkBacksWe have an attic and closet where we store extra gear. We have about 200 Minitor I's and 50 Keynotes. We dont use them since someone gave them to us. The chief is going to throw them away since reprogramming them isnt worth it. You can just buy new ones for the same price.Should he give them to the explorers and have them pay for the reprogramming if they want to use one of what should he do?

i think if he wont give them to you he should at least find a dept. in need of them, sure they're old, but still functional. better than tossing the whole lot. by the way, what band are they on? maybe we could make a deal?

Why not post those items on Firehouse Forums new thread? I think that would be the appropriate thing to do. Help out some brother firefighters in need!

I am with my friend from New Jersey....someone can use them.
But...in answer to your question...I will pose a question...Why do you need a pager?
Now...if you can answer that your explorer post is responsible for a re-hab unit and that you get paged when the unit is needed then ok...I am for giving explorers pagers for that purpose. But...I see no other reason.09-11 .. 343 "All Gave Some..Some Gave ALL" God Bless..R.I.P.

1835wayne does bring up a pretty good point...
But I would have to agree with everyone else, if your Chief isn't planning on using them, why not donate them to a department that will use them?These are my opinions, not those of my career department, my volunteer company, or my affiliates. And by the way, I'm not a Junior.
