Brush fire that started last week flares up in Farmington
(Farmington-AP) -- The wildfire that ruined at least 200 acres
near Farmington last week is refusing to die.
Firefighters from eight volunteer companies were back at the
scene yesterday after the fire flared-up.
Harrington Fire Company chief Jimmy Green says crews got a 9-1-1
call about 1:15 yesterday afternoon that the fire had reignited.
Green says it appears the flames jumped a firebreak that crews made
a few days ago.
The state fire marshal's office is still investigating the cause
of the original fire. The blaze first broke out last Thursday.
Green says it will take many thousands of gallons of water to
put the fire out. Crews are using bulldozers to create more
roadways for fire equipment to get to the scene.
