The Wingate VFD First Responder of the Year award is award every December to an active Wingate VFD First Responder based on majority votes from his peers, however there has never been any specifications as to what qualifies a First Responder for this award.
The Chief and Officers of the Wingate VFD feel that there should be qualification so that this award just does not become a popularity contest.
