Do we qualify for grant funds

Under the grant rules I was wondering if our EMS department qualifies. We are a full time private service responsable for providing primary EMS to the entire city and county, we are not based with any fire dept. With the proposed budget cuts of local goverment and the recent start up of another private service there is restrictions of finances and no county assistance available. Recently we have been upgrading our HazMat response, but to cover the cost of needed equipment the funds just are not there. Can anyone tell me if our deptartment would qualify under the grant provisions. Thanks.

If by private you mean 'commercial' (for profit) then you probably dont qualify for the FIRE grants specifically.
