Smile Oh frabjous day, calloo callay! (She chortled in her joy)

One happy note from yesterday-- after returning from the memorial services we found in the mail Althea's acceptance letter to the Chicago Police & Firefighter Training Academy. It is a high school level program which trains them for careers in policework or firefighting and as an EMT-basic. She will also get a paid internship for the next two summers AND if her grades are up to snuff, a scholarship for an AA degree in fire science at a local junior college. THERE IS LIGHT AT THE END OF THE HIGHSCHOOL TUNNEL.

It's a crusty old jake's Streamlight Survivor signalling "come over to the FD!"

    Congratulations, Althea!
