Firefighter dies when his home burns

GRAETTINGER, Iowa (AP) - A firefighter found dead in his burning
home in northwest Iowa died of smoke inhalation.
Charles Petersen, 40, a veteran member of the Graettinger Fire
Department, was found in an upstairs bedroom of his house early
Wednesday.
Investigators blamed the fire, which started in a sofa, on
careless smoking.
