WINNIPEG -- A Winnipeg woman who nearly froze to death after a
night of drinking is suing the city, emergency personnel and the
taxi driver who dropped her at home.
Kim Simon has undergone several skin grafts, has lost one finger and has severe nerve damage in her right leg after spending seven hours in the cold last January.
Simon was out with friends when she had several beers and passed out in the cab on the way home.
Six emergency personnel were called to the home by the cab
driver and they helped the woman out of the cab.
But she was later found outside with her pants pulled down, her winter jacket open and a cut on her lip.
The woman claims that emergency personnel and the taxi driver
should have made sure Simon was safely inside her house before
leaving.
The defendants have 20 days to file a defence. (Wpg Sun) JMd

Is it just me...or is there something missing here....like what happened between the time she left the cab...and waking up with her pants down? Hmmm! SIX emergency personnel?

...and I thought they only sued in America for the inability to take personal reponsibility for oneself.

If you are commenting on the issues with the fireifghters and the IAFF convention you need to remember that these allegations have not been proven and there have been no charges placed. These guys are innocent until proven guilty and your connection of them to this incident is off base. If you meant it as a joke...this is a serious incident....one not to be joked about. Not busint your chops here...just a few thoughts for you to ponder....

This is a serious incident that NJFFS_A16 has posted and the implications could be severe. The fact that she is suing is enough and AFF is right on target with his comments. Just goes to show you that people will sue you for their own inability to manage themselves.

Right you are Captain! This might turn into a "he said, she said, they said" case....and if she claims that she was sexually molested by emergency personnel..it has nasty implications.

I remember my days on the ambulance corps...and we often tended to drunk and disorderly women/men. Ya gotta be sure that law enforcement is there at all times...as witnesses to your actions.
