Anybody spec a boat for firefighting. What type of boat and gear was affixed to the craft. Photos would be appreciated as well as the specs. Nothing to big!!!!!!! Thanks All.......BE ALERT AND STAY ALIVE

The Smith Mountain Lake Volunteer Fire Company currently boasts (Floats ??) a fleet of 7 various Fire & EMS Equiped boats.

The local USCG has recently put this boat into service. The .50cal mount swaps out with a 1500gpm monitor.

6 Foot Puffin class fiberglass boat
24lbs thrust Minn Kota motor
1 Group 27 Deep Cycle Battery
5lb danforth anchor w/ 50' 3/8" nylon rode
2 adult PFD's
.50 cal M2 heavy machinegun w/500rnds w/pintel mount
Or 1500GPM remote feed monitor
Top speed 3.8knts ahead 12.3knts astern w/ assist from .50cal or monitor
Range 2 hours at max 6 hours a 2knts
Max sea state: 1

Can anyone say "Sitting Duck?"
And with the monitor attached I wonder how fast it would push you away from the fire. (and a 5 plb. anchor isn't going to slow it down.)
