Fire official injured in three-car accident

(Washington-AP) -- A high-level D-C fire official has been
injured in a three-car accident.
The collision happened before ten a-m on the 700 block of
Massachusetts Avenue in Northeast.
D-C fire department spokesman Alan Etter says Acting Deputy Fire
Chief Frank Tremel was taken to Washington Hospital Center. No one
else was injured.
Etter says a driver of a minivan rear-ended the fire department
vehicle which in turn hit another car.
Tremel was on-duty and was a passenger in the vehicle.
A Washington Hospital Center spokeswoman says Tremel is in good
