ST. JOHN'S, Nfld. -- Newfoundland's forest resources minister is
headed to a national conference, hoping to strike a deal with
Ottawa for new water bombers.
The Canadian Council of Forest Ministers begins its annual
meeting in Halifax today.
Forestry Minister Rick Woodford says his province is
particularly interested in a proposed national forest fire
management plan.
The program would see a federal-provincial cost sharing program
to replace aging water bombers.
It's not clear how many other provinces are interested in the
plan. (VOCM) mub (from Broadcast News Ltd.)
