((((E Lt)))) sorry you had a rough day (rough week???) Wish I could help. I may not belong to the brotherhood .... well, you know what I mean LOL, I'm very much a chick but I think you know by now that I'm a good friend of the fire, rescue & emergency services, no matter where you might live, so if you need to talk, please feel free to send me a PM, email or instant message. I'm a great listener, and very sympathetic.

Hope you have a better day tomorrow

Man, I feel like I got punched in the face. I came back from that wake last night and just could not believe how bad I feel. Hey lou the light at the end of the tunnel just might be the train coming.

bob and Lou, not sure if your bad day has anything to do with todays headline, but if so, my heartfelt condolences on the loss of another brother.

To every Emergency Services brother and sister who reads these forums, I once again plead, don't shoulder these feelings on your own. A brotherhood/sisterhood exists more than for just union issues and drinking buddies. Reach out for that shoulder to lean on.

No truer song has ever been written.....

Sometimes in our lives, we all have pain, we all have sorrow.
But if we are wise, we know that there's always tomorrow.
Lean on me, when you're not strong and I'll be your friend.
I'll help you carry on, for it won't be long 'til I'm gonna need somebody
    to lean on.
Please swallow your pride, if have things you need to borrow.
For no one can fill those needs that you won't let show.

You just call on me brother when you need a hand.
We all need somebody to lean on.
I just might have a problem that you'll understand.
We all need somebody to lean on.

Lean on me when you't not strong, and I'll be your friend.
I'll help you carry on, for it won't be long 'til I'm gonna' need

If there is a load you have to bear that you can't carry.
I'm right up the road, I'll share your load if you just call me.

    Artie,

I think I understand your original post a bit better now. I am at a loss of what to say to try to help with what you are going through today, and will be going through for some time. Just know that we all wish, and are quite willing, to help you and your brothers anyway we can. Unfortunately, the effects of 9/11 are going to be with you and the other members of FDNY for quite some time.
